Website Portfolio - Belper District Scouts
This website for Belper District Scouts has been online since August 2005 and has grown in size since. To date the site has had three revamps, with its most recent version launching in January 2008.
The site contains information about Scouting in the Belper District, in Derbyshire.
The website has been made in XHTML and uses PHP and CSS for improved stability, efficiency, and maintenance. Current features include:
- Full District and section diaries - now automatically updated using PHP scripts.
- Details of Scout Groups, Explorer Units, and Scout Networks in the District.
- A PHPBB discussion forum
- Printer-friendly web pages
- Improved accessibility and usability

DISTRICT DIARY The District Diary contains a list of events, meetings, and other important dates taking place within the district. NEW - The Disitrct Diary is now automatically updated using a PHP script, so that old dates no longer appear on the website. Sectional-only diaries can also be accessed via either the main full diary page or via the relevant section page. Again these are automatically updated using PHP. |

SECTION PAGES Each scouting section gets their own pages to showcase what is happening in that particular section. |

GROUPS HOMEPAGES The groups homepages show a chart where you can find out when a particular group and section meets. NEW - The website now has 2 groups homepages. One lists in section order, whilst the other lists in group order. |
